The Big Plastic Count 2024 will take place between the 11th and 17th March during British Science Week and staff and students will once again be taking part.

Almost a quarter of a million people took part in The Big Plastic Count in 2022 including many of our students, staff and their families. Together, households and communities across the country contributed to the biggest investigation into household plastic waste in the UK. Sadly, the results showed that nearly 100 billion pieces of plastic are thrown away in the United Kingdom each year, with hardly any of it recycled.
