Consultation: Joining Wandle Learning Trust

The Manor Trust enters consultation period to join Wandle Learning Trust

The Manor Trust's board has taken the decision to enter into a formal consultation period with a view to joining Wandle Learning Trust (WLT). For parents and carers, the dates of this consultation period are 25th February 2025 to 31st March 2025. As part of the consultation, there will be a meeting at this school on Monday 10th March which parents/carers are invited to attend (see the bottom of this page for further details).

Wandle Learning Trust

WLT was founded in January 2018 by Christian Kingsley, the headteacher of Chestnut Grove Academy in Balham, and Mark Siswick, the headteacher of Chesterton Primary School in Battersea.

It has since grown to include Ravenstone School, Paxton Academy and Thomson House School. In April 2025, Fircroft Primary School will also join the trust.

Wandle Learning Trust is more than a multi-academy trust. It is a teaching school which offers a wide range of initial teaching training and continuing professional development for all school-based staff across London and the south of England. It is the only organisation in the country that has been awarded Department for Education contracts to run three specialist hubs, each with a dedicated team of staff delivering high-quality training and support, covering English, mathematics and early years provision.

The teaching school and its hubs are places where schools can access training; share and learn from good practice; and receive support for their staff. Norbury High School for Girls has already taken advantage of training provided by WLT so formally joining the trust would build on existing relationships and widen the support available to our schools.

As part of Wandle Learning Trust, the senior leadership team, teaching staff and support staff at Norbury High School for Girls would be part of a wider group of professionals providing consistent guidance and advice, offering security to the schools over the long term.

The Manor Trust's board believes that belonging to an organisation focused on improving the quality of teaching and learning can only have a positive influence on its schools.
