At Norbury High School for Girls, we have links to several higher education providers and other organisations who support potential first-generation students in considering/applying for a university place.

The definition of a first-generation student can vary from programme to programme but generally refers to those whose parents did not attend university. If a student’s sibling attended/is attending university but their parents did not then the first-generation category still applies.

There are additional widening participation programmes available for students who are or have been in care, or who are or have been eligible for free school meals or who may have been young carers.

The schemes we are involved with include the following:

• King's College London K+ Programme
• King's College London Kings of King's Programme
• Social Mobility Foundation
• SEO Advance
